The company is a leading supplier of printed flexible packaging solutions. They are now looking for a Printing Press Lead Operator to join their team.

Salary:

£35,000 – £45,000

Role and Responsibilities

1. Operate and set up a flexographic printing press.
2. Support manufacturing operations to achieve and exceed sales and profit targets.
3. Promote cooperation among site colleagues and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
4. Maintain all housekeeping standards for equipment care and a clean, hazard-free environment.
5. Operate the press at optimal speed, following job instructions and quality standards.
6. Follow safety instructions and wear PPE as required.
7. Perform pre-inspection, report equipment malfunctions to Comexi for online support, or to the Operations Director if unresolved.
8. Clean printing plates, anilox rolls, and adhere to Operator Maintenance Programmes.
9. Monitor ink viscosity.
10. Follow all quality guidelines and meet customer requirements, including print quality, color standards, and repeat length, using the x-rite system with a delta of 2 or as specified.
11. Maintain world-class print quality and record production data accurately.
12. Meet or exceed production targets and address non-conformances.
13. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and report major issues to the Operations Director or Shift Supervisor.
14. Work safely, following all safety policies and good practices, and ensure BRC and FSC Chain of Custody compliance.
15. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
16. Foster effective teamwork and maintain positive working relationships.
17. Report health and safety concerns, near misses, and incidents, and assist in investigations.
18. In the absence of the Printing Press Lead Operator, responsibilities are covered by the Production Manager.
