The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

As part of the LRQA Seafood Team, Seafood Auditors assess LRQA clients’ conformity with relevant seafood chain standards. They may also conduct technical/certification reviews and witness audits where appropriate. Auditors must ensure their audits are delivered to a high standard, maintaining compliance with relevant requirements and ensuring effective and efficient audit programs, providing excellent service to clients. Auditors are expected to develop and maintain detailed technical knowledge of relevant schemes and industry practices, including attending client and scheme owner meetings as required. After scheme-specific training and qualification, Auditors are responsible for ensuring their audits are conducted professionally and meet required standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become qualified to audit in relevant certification schemes and maintain this status through ongoing training and calibration.
  • Plan and carry out audits across a range of seafood clients.
  • Generate accurate, clear, and objective audit reports that comply with requirements, and carry out technical and certification reviews as needed.
  • Ensure timely submission of audit reports, evaluation of corrective actions, and completion of reviews.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of relevant schemes to provide technical support to colleagues.
  • Build relationships with colleagues to optimize teamwork and organize travel plans and site audits.
  • Develop relationships with scheme owners to stay updated on regulations and standards.
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to assigned schemes, including reviewing and responding to audit findings.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and support change initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the seafood business unit and organization.

Technical/Professional Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 2 years’ relevant aquaculture or supply chain experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with effective planning and scheduling abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional beneficial experience includes:

  • 2+ years in seafood processing quality assurance or food safety.
  • 3+ years in animal or aquaculture feed mills.
  • Knowledge of the seafood industry in Northwest Europe.
  • Experience with accredited certification schemes and auditing (1st, 2nd, or 3rd party).
  • Minimum of 25 days of onsite auditing experience in relevant fields.
  • Auditor qualifications in relevant schemes (e.g., Global GAP, ASC, BAP, MSC Chain of Custody).
  • Training in HACCP principles.
  • Fish welfare training from an industry-recognized provider.
  • Additional languages beyond English.
  • Comfort around water due to the nature of audits.
  • UK-based and able to travel within the Schengen area and internationally as needed.
