My client is a powerhouse in international Fintech design and is seeking a Platform Engineer to build and maintain highly available cloud data applications. You'll collaborate with DevOps and Engineering teams to integrate these applications within Payroc's ecosystem. This role involves defining platform standards for smooth deployments, ensuring platform stability and scalability through upgrades, and managing the data analytics platform.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize modern data platform tools (dbt Core, Airflow, Airbyte, Snowflake, etc.).
- Collaborate with DevOps, Data Engineering, Infrastructure, and InfoSec teams for seamless application integration.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud data platform infrastructure (AWS or Azure).
- Automate deployment and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Implement IaC best practices and use Azure CI/CD for automated deployments.
- Partner with the data management team and stakeholders to align platform capabilities with requirements.
- Establish controls and monitoring for system uptime and proactive operational maintenance.
- Plan and manage platform upgrades for stability and security.
- Monitor and optimize platform performance, reliability, and security.
- Conduct security assessments and implement safeguards.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies for continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Platform Engineer or similar role.
- Proficient in deploying highly available cloud services (AWS or Azure).
- Strong understanding of IaC principles and tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep).
- Familiarity with cloud database technologies (Snowflake, Redshift, etc.).
- Knowledge of Linux and related platform tooling (e.g., Docker).
- Knowledge of data platform and/or data science tooling.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
