The UK Government has established UK Industrial Fusion Solutions (UKIFS) Ltd., a subsidiary of UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), to lead the charge in delivering fusion energy through the design and delivery of the Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production (STEP) prototype fusion plant. UKIFS is establishing itself, attracting talent, engaging with industry, developing a supply chain, and planning and constructing the STEP prototype. Fusion energy is crucial for combating climate change and ensuring energy independence, and is expected to be commercially viable by mid-century. The salary for this role is £48,376 and our hybrid working policy is to be onsite for 3 days per week.

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of the Build Environment project, characterising and preparing the site for major construction and the submission of the DCO. This role involves guiding the Senior team and the Assistant Project Manager, ensuring alignment with the strategic vision, and managing high-level stakeholder relationships.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines.
- Coordinate project activities, ensuring alignment with STEP objectives and timelines.
- Ensure the preparation and maintenance of project documentation and records.
- Ensure all aspects of the NEC4 contracts are administered in accordance with the agreed terms and conditions.
- Monitor compliance with contractual obligations by all parties involved.
- Maintain accurate records of all contract-related documentation, communications, and transactions.
- Ensure excellent HSE performance on all projects.
- Resolve obstacles to project delivery and lead the identification and employment of creative solutions.
- Report on progress against milestones, changes, exceptions, budgets, and other key performance indicators.
- Effective project risk and change management.
Essential Requirements:
- Significant experience in senior project management roles within the energy sector or a related field.
- Ability to understand complex engineering concepts and effectively communicate project goals and updates to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven track record of leading and delivering large-scale, complex projects.
