This role is based at a co-educational private day and boarding school in Hampshire, catering for 800 pupils and staff from nursery to 18 years. Responsibilities include supporting the executive/head chef in meal preparation and service, particularly in the evenings, for students and staff. The position requires cooking high-standard home-style meals, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to close the kitchen and complete mandatory paperwork.
The working hours are 10:30 am to 7:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with some weekend shifts (2 out of 6 weekends) every 6 weeks, over approximately 15 weeks per year. The role involves working with fresh, seasonal ingredients and creating bespoke menus, offering opportunities to showcase culinary skills.
Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare food from scratch using fresh ingredients, adhering to brand standards
- Maintain food hygiene, health & safety standards, and allergen controls
