The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) job is a development-focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position. The SMIT program aims to enhance your career as a future store leader through a self-paced, collaborative training over 16 weeks, including virtual and hands-on learning experiences. Support for your growth includes your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Key skills needed for this role include:

  • Effective verbal and written communication to support and lead your team
  • Customer care duties to ensure high service levels
  • Executing merchandising strategies to support store sales growth
  • Managing store inventory and assets to maintain profitability

Note that selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager. Promotion depends on performance and available openings. Candidates must be willing to accept a Store Manager role at any location within the market and transfer as needed. Flexibility in work schedule is also required.

Minimum qualifications include a High School diploma or GED; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Relevant work experience or retail management experience is also considered.
