Health & Justice Liaison (HJL) – Commercial role UK Our client is looking to recruit a Health and Justice Liaison to work alongside the their Regional Leads covering the South East predominately (and South Midlands) to enable the business to expand and develop its continued growth in the treatment of opioid dependency that is truly making a positive and constructive difference to people’s lives. The UK has comparatively high rates of heroin users compared to many other Western countries. Although drug misuse exists in most areas in the UK, it is more prevalent in areas characterised by social deprivation, which in turn is associated with poorer health. Recorded rates of drug-related deaths due to overdose in the UK continues to be amongst the highest in Europe whilst in-patient facilities and the annual spend on treatment has severely reduced. Therefore, with a decade-long erosion, under previous governments, in almost every aspect of drug addiction, prevention, treatment and recovery working in the politically charged environment of substance use treatment can be highly challenging, yet extremely rewarding. There is strong scientific evidence for opioid substitution therapy and part of the H&J Liaison (HJL) role will be to ensure that patients with opioid dependence are able to access our clients product as part of an offering of OST. The right treatment at the right time can be lifesaving. Role & Responsibilities You will be part of a field-based team to help drive sales and education within the opioid dependence treatment sector to ensure patients are able to access treatment as part of an offering of OST. The right treatment at the right time can be lifesaving. * To be successful in this role you will need to be genuinely interested in this therapy area and possess a deep level of empathy, understanding and humility around the issues faced by those with opioid dependence. * As the HJL, you will be accountable for sales, as well as delivering education and training to key stakeholders across the criminal justice treatment pathway in a defined geographical area. Stakeholders may include psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, psychologists, pharmacists, keyworkers and other workers providing drug treatment, as well as health and social care professionals. * You will build excellent relationships with wider stakeholders, including specialist teams, commissioners, acute teams, local authorities, CDPs and PCCs. * As an HJL you will work closely with your manager, the Criminal Justice Lead whilst maintaining a close working relationship with the Regional Leads (RL) upon whose geography you work. * You will be responsible for implementing the Criminal Justice Business Plan relating to the defined geographical area which you work with an expectation to exceed sales objectives and achieve agreed KPIs. * As an HJL, you will be/become an expert in terms of knowledge and practical application in all aspects of substance misuse
