Duties as a SEN Teacher:
- Deliver high-quality, personalised teaching to pupils with SEND (including EHCPs and those with additional learning needs)
- Plan, assess and adapt learning to meet individual education and behavioural targets
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom that promotes independence and confidence
- Work collaboratively with the SENCO, support staff, external agencies, and families
- Monitor and report on progress, maintaining accurate and detailed records
- Contribute to annual reviews, IEPs and multi-agency meetings as required
- Promote emotional well-being and a positive attitude towards learning
Ideal SEN Teacher:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience or a strong interest in working with children with SEND
- Understands the graduated approach to SEN support
- Uses creative and flexible teaching strategies to engage diverse learners
