5D is working with a leading civils contractor heavily involved in HS2 and other major construction and infrastructure projects. Over the last twenty years, this business has grown to be one of the UK's leading principal contractors, renowned for excellence. Due to a growing order book, we are looking to add a 3D CAD Modeller to the design team. Working specifically on the HS2 package, focused around earthworks, this role will involve:
What the Role Will Involve:- Liaising with the client to acquire relevant and accurate project information.
- Preparing design data received from the BBV team (buildings, bridges, and viaducts).
- Creating 3D models and distributing for machine control and site engineers using 3D CAD. Experience with Trimble and AutoCAD LT is preferred, but other 3D CAD experience is acceptable.
- Reviewing design changes and ensuring everyone is using the latest designs.
- Assisting with Quality Assurance sign-offs for completed work.
- Drafting drawings for the site team and client.
- Processing site surveys and preparing data for client submission.
- Analyzing design documentation, including BOMAP roller pass reports, to ensure designs are fit for purpose.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders including QS, site engineers, and project managers to ensure smooth project progression.
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Site experience is required to understand terminology and equipment used on site.
- An excellent understanding of civil engineering, ideally supported by a relevant qualification.
