Our client is a fast-growing, London-based SaaS fintech startup revolutionising the way regulations are managed across the financial services sector. Their proprietary platform enables financial institutions to store, share, and enrich SSI data more efficiently and accurately, drastically reducing operational risk and ensuring compliance with increasingly stringent regulatory demands.
With a rapidly expanding client base that includes custodians, buy-sides, and brokers, our client is now looking for an experienced and hands-on Technology Director to lead the next phase of their technical evolution.
The Role
As Technology Director, you will own the strategic direction and day-to-day management of the company's technology function. Reporting to the COO, you'll shape the technical roadmap, lead the engineering and infrastructure teams, and ensure the company's AWS-hosted platform continues to deliver exceptional availability, performance, and security. This is a key leadership role for someone excited to drive innovation while remaining closely involved in delivery and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the technology strategy in alignment with business goals
- Lead and scale the product engineering function, ensuring rapid, high-quality delivery
- Own the architecture and operation of the AWS-based infrastructure
- Champion best practices in cybersecurity, cloud operations, and data integrity
- Guide budgeting, vendor selection, and team resourcing (including offshore teams)
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support growth, innovation, and operational maturity
- Stay ahead of technology trends to keep the platform modern and competitive
- Support internal technology needs to keep teams productive and connected
About You
You're a strategic thinker with deep technical roots - someone who can inspire a team while being comfortable rolling up your sleeves. You've built and led technical functions in fintech, SaaS, or regulated industries and know what it takes to deliver secure, scalable solutions in a high-growth environment.
Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on technical background, with experience in: Python, ReactJS, REST APIs, Kafka, SQL databases
- SaaS architecture on AWS
- Proven leadership of software development teams in agile environments
- Deep understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and SDLC best practices
- Experience managing cloud operations, cybersecurity, and data compliance
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
- Prior experience working in fast-paced startups or scale-ups preferred
- Offshore team management experience is a plus
- A degree in Computer Science or similar is preferred
