Casual Trainer at St John Ambulance

As a Casual Trainer, you will deliver and assess a variety of First Aid and Health & Safety training courses to our workplace and community training customers.

The primary focus is on training our 1, 2, and 3-day first aid courses. We are also the leading provider of Fire Marshal and IOSH Managing Safely training, and are expanding in mental health and wellbeing courses. All trainers deliver the first aid suite; candidates should have a Level 3 assessing and teaching/training qualification (e.g., CiLD). We are also interested in candidates wishing to deliver the Managing Safely course, for which NEBOSH qualification is required. If you have training experience in first aid, that would be advantageous.

Our courses are highly rated because they are interactive, enjoyable, practical, and delivered by passionate, well-trained trainers working in cohesive teams with expert support. We aim to equip delegates not just with certificates but with skills and confidence to make a difference. We foster values of humanity, excellence, accountability, responsiveness, and teamwork in our daily work. If this resonates with you, please get in touch.

You will mostly work in our training venues (around 200 nationwide), on customer premises, and travel to other locations as needed. Occasional weekend or evening courses may be required.

For more details, please view the full job description on our website or after clicking apply.

What we\’re looking for:

  • Assessing and Training Qualification at Level 3 or above (e.g., CiLD)
  • Passionate, engaging, adaptable, and flexible individuals
  • First aid training experience (preferred)
  • Casual roles with attractive assignment rates
  • NEBOSH qualification for delivering safety courses (interested candidates)
