Overview
Perth & Kinross Council is seeking a Pupil Support Teacher (PST) to join the Intensive Support Provision (ISP) within Perth Academy. The position is a 0.8FTE fixed‑term role until 16 August 2026 (reference PKC13179) with a competitive salary range of £33,594 – £50,589 pro‑rata.
Responsibilities
- Provide a rich learning environment for young people within the ISP, using knowledge and skills of additional support needs.
- Work in partnership with specialist services to meet the needs of learners and provide consultation opportunities to staff and parents.
- Model good practice and help build capacity of other adults in school through developing and leading collegiate activities.
Qualifications
- Depth of knowledge and understanding of additional support needs, barriers to learning and interventions to overcome these.
- Experience of teaching, with some of this provided within a support role.
- A flexible, solution‑focused approach to work within a busy and rewarding educational environment.
- Evidence of delivering wider achievement opportunities for young people (beneficial).
- Understanding of inclusive practice and desire to be part of a collaborative team.
