The Town of Southampton is a Civil Service Employer. The Southampton Town Parks Department is accepting applications for certified Ocean and Waterfront Lifeguards to work this summer.

Responsibilities:

  • Good knowledge of approved water rescue methods and first aid techniques.
  • Skill in ocean and/or bay swimming, lifesaving techniques, first aid, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Ability to exercise tact, firmness, and good judgment in enforcing rules and regulations.
  • Ability to prevent dangerous situations from arising, recognise emergencies, and take effective action.

Requirements:

  • Must have completed a state-approved lifeguard training program and hold current certification.
  • Must complete CPR training with Town (more info to be provided at time of interview).

Competitive salary and the option to enrol in the New York State Employees Retirement System.
