Derby College Group (DCG) has an exciting opportunity for a part-time Teacher to join our Digital team at Joseph Wright Centre, delivering our Esports curriculum. The department offers vocational qualifications at levels 2 and 3. We seek a dedicated and motivated professional committed to providing an outstanding student experience.

The Role

You will play a key role in the success of our Esports provision, supporting students across the East Midlands. You will join a passionate and dedicated teaching team.

Essential skills and knowledge include:

  • Esports and broader Games Industry knowledge
  • Esports events management
  • Setup and management of live streamed broadcasts
  • Proficiency with industry software such as OBS Studio, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro

Desirable skills to develop include:

  • Social media content creation (graphic design, UI/UX, SFX)
  • Commercial branding
  • Digital marketing
  • Shoutcasting
  • Video production and editing
  • Esports coaching and performance analysis
  • Additional industry software (performance analysis tools, Adobe Illustrator, After Effects)

This knowledge will enable you to deliver engaging teaching, learning, and assessment in these specialized areas.

About you

You should have teaching experience in Esports, gaming, or related industries, and be an innovative teacher focused on student success. You will possess knowledge of Esports industry principles such as live events, streaming, and software, with a willingness to learn and expand your expertise. Your skills should be demonstrated through effective planning, outstanding teaching, and assessment.
