We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Maths Teacher to join our team. Northcroft School offers a unique learning environment that combines the friendly, personal atmosphere of a small village school with the nurturing qualities of a home. It provides specialised professional support and fosters a caring and supportive atmosphere for students from year 7 to year 11. We prioritise quality over quantity to enhance the educational experience for children.

Main duties of the role:

  • Take lead responsibility for an area of the curriculum within a school, supporting the SLT in curriculum design, qualifications, and the line management of staff in your curriculum area.
  • Embed the teaching of reading, writing, and communication throughout the curriculum.
  • Understand the SEN Code of Practice for identification and assessment of Special Educational Needs.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, pastoral teams, and multi-agency teams to promote high expectations for attendance.
  • Be inspired by the school's culture based on the Thrive model and trauma-informed approach using PACE.
  • Support joined-up working between Stable Futures and the Paddocks for personal development schemes.
  • Implement weekly personal development sessions.
  • Support students to become confident, self-assured learners with excellent attitudes to learning, positively impacting their progress and preparing them for the next stage.
  • Undertake the role of Tutor and be the first point of contact for parents/carers of students in the Tutor Group.
  • Collaborate with the therapeutic team to provide bespoke support based on children's needs.
