Design Workshop UK Limited are looking for a Metal Fabrication Apprentice to complete a Level 3 Metal Fabricator apprenticeship to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification. As an apprentice, the candidate will develop key skills in metal fabrication, welding techniques, and engineering principles while being supported by experienced professionals.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Learn and apply fabrication and welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and MMA welding
- Read and interpret technical drawings, engineering plans, and specifications
- Operate hand tools, machinery, and welding equipment safely and efficiently
- Assemble and fabricate metal components to required specifications
- Conduct quality checks to ensure work meets industry and company standards
- Follow health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment
- Work as part of a team to complete projects on time and to a high standard
- Attend AMRC Training Centre sessions as part of the apprenticeship program

Things to Consider:
During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study. You will return to your workplace one Friday per month. After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.

Advanced Apprenticeships entry requirements: You will need both of the following:
- GCSE English language C or 4 or above
- GCSE Maths C or 4 or above.
Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
