FPSG has an exciting permanent opportunity for an Engineer to join a highly regarded 24/7 Support Service team at our client\’s site in Central Scotland. This is your chance to become a key member of the shift team, providing advanced out-of-hours technical support for Solaris and AIX servers, ensuring full system availability and high-quality support. We are looking for Engineers with experience in process optimization, customer satisfaction improvement, and technical troubleshooting. Your role will involve working closely with colleagues and customers, monitoring systems, and enhancing solutions with a focus on customer experience. Strong teamwork is essential, as all members collaborate to meet Service Level Agreements and customer KPIs. This position is based in Central Scotland, with shift patterns discussed at application to ensure a good work-life balance. The team provides full coverage for a 24-hour operation. Role Responsibilities Deliver exceptional customer service outside of core business hours, supporting a 24/7 operation. Respond to security vulnerabilities identified by the compliance team and support disaster recovery tests across virtual platforms. Organize your day to perform scheduled change work outside of core hours and support setup, configuration, and maintenance of Linux and Windows servers. Contribute ideas for new and improved products, and develop your skills with new technologies and colleagues. Essential Job Functions Provide technical support for infrastructure services, troubleshooting issues and assisting with tasks. Support infrastructure projects and assignments. Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure systems to ensure reliability and performance. Work with the team to improve infrastructure effectiveness and resolve technical challenges. Maintain infrastructure documentation, incident logs, and configuration records. Apply technical expertise to resolve infrastructure issues and incidents. Follow best practices and standards in infrastructure service delivery. Qualifications Bachelor\’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field; higher education is a plus but not essential. Relevant industry experience, particularly in infrastructure technology analysis. Proficiency in data analysis and technical knowledge. Continuous learner committed to staying updated with industry trends and technology.
