The predicted salary is between 45000 - 65000 £ per year.

Responsible for providing leadership, effective management, and strategic direction to the school. This includes overseeing the school's affairs to benefit pupils and the community it serves. The role involves leading and managing whole school policy, its implementation, and evaluation. Additionally, the post holder will manage and develop the school curriculum, learning, and teaching provisions to promote improved educational outcomes.

The post holder must demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the service and the organization.

Qualifications and Legal Requirements

Holding the Standard for Headship is a prerequisite for teachers taking up their first permanent headteacher post at Local Authority and grant-aided schools in Scotland from 1 August 2020, under Section 28 of the Education (Scotland) Act 2016. There are two exemptions: one for headteachers appointed before 1 August 2020, and another allowing temporary appointments without the standard for up to 23 months after this date.

Please note that the grade for this position may be subject to change annually, in line with the SNCT Handbook, with any change effective from 1 August each year.

Requirements

This role involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate must join or update their PVG Scheme membership. If you have spent over 3 months outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory pre-employment checks.

The salary will be in accordance with SNCT agreements. Applicants must be or be eligible for full registration with GTC Scotland. Those qualified outside Scotland should review GTCS registration requirements. The post requires at least one reference, preferably from your current or most recent employer.
