Join Vet Record Careers as a Veterinary Care Assistant to support a 24‑hour veterinary hospital, Hamilton Specialist Referrals (HSR), located just outside High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire.

Key Responsibilities

• Feeding, cleaning, and exercising inpatients.
• Maintain high‑level infection prevention control, including kennel cleaning and laundry.
• Support nurses and clinicians in wards and theatre, including assisting with emergency admissions, patient restraint, and laboratory tasks.
• Assist with cleaning and sterilisation of equipment and instruments.
• Maintain and care for machinery and equipment.

Essential Attributes & Qualifications

• Genuine love of animals and commitment to animal welfare.
• Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting preferred but not essential.
• Reliable, responsible, able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Calm and confident in a busy, sometimes challenging environment.
• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks.

Working Pattern

This role offers a structured and sustainable 4 nights on, 8 nights off rotating shift pattern. Shifts are 13 hours, running from 7:30 pm to 6:30 am. Additional approximately 12 shifts per year may be scheduled monthly or flexibly.
