Purpose of the role
As a Class 1 Driver, you will complete your driver envelopes with start and finish times as well as POA and ensure that you update your work record by completing manual entries when you enter your digital card into a digital tachograph. You will correctly complete a pre-op check of the vehicle and report any defects using the agreed procedure. Part of the role is to ensure security of the load and good welfare of the birds at all times and maintain communication with the transport office with regard to delays.
Key Responsibilities May Include
- Collecting livestock from several farms as set out by the daily catching plan and deliver safely to the Brackley site
- Ensuring security of the load prior to transportation and checking bird welfare at all times
- Delivering finished, refrigerated goods nationwide
- Correctly completing all necessary paperwork associated with the work you have undertaken (weighbridge slips, poultry transport certificates etc)
- Maintaining good communication with the transport office regarding issues or delays
- Wearing the approved and provided protective equipment and practicing Health and Safety at all times
What We Are Looking For
- You will have at least 6 months Class 1 driving experience
- You will hold a current CPC and Tacho Card
- You will have no more than 9 points on your license
- It is essential that you have good knowledge of driver regulations
- You will have the ability to be flexible with the business needs and have a positive working attitude
Working Hours
- Sunday to Thursday - start time 22:00 - 23:59 - Live Haul
- Monday to Friday - start time 00:00 - 02:00 - Live Haul
