We have a rare and exciting opening for a Senior Garage Technician within our Race Team. This role offers the unique opportunity to travel and be part of all the Race Team calendar events. The Role
Reporting to the Trackside Co-ordinator you will lead the race team garage technicians trackside and assist in required race related tasks. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Logistical and operational planning for air, land and sea freight movements.
- Prepare and set up the garage area for race weekends ahead of car build.
- Setting up the pitstop area as well as the management and maintenance of the equipment, including pitstop gantry, wheel guns and jacks.
- Leading with the other Garage Technicians the loading and unloading of both air freight pallets at flyaway events and trucks in Europe.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on all garage equipment, to ensure they are in perfect working order.
- Provide hands-on support during practice sessions, qualifying, and races, including active role in pitstops.
- A good understanding of all Garage Technician roles and duties (fuel, tyres, pitstop equipment).
- Provide technical support to the team, troubleshooting and resolving any issues with garage equipment promptly.
- Stay updated with the latest technological advancements in garage equipment and tools, recommending upgrades or new acquisitions.
- Have a proactive approach to garage presentation and setting high standards throughout the garage.
- Adhere to and enforce all health and safety regulations within the garage, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
The Person
We are looking for an individual with experience in a similar position within motorsport. The ideal candidate will have a strong and varied Garage Technician background, as well as good organisation and communication skills. They will possess strong leadership capabilities and be confident in managing people and equipment. They will have exceptional communication skills, be flexible, self-motivated and be a collaborative team player. HGV license is preferable but not necessary.
