Working within the Electronic Engineering team, this role provides technical support across UK and International projects on the development of new methods in printed circuit board design, production, and assembly. It offers a rare chance to build a broad and specialised technical skill set not typically found elsewhere in the sector.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the exploration and implementation of new tools and processes, both in the UK and internationally, through partnerships with internal teams and external suppliers — occasional overseas travel may be required.
- Gaining an understanding of the materials, behaviours, and production methods used in PCB and circuit card assembly, with a focus on their suitability for demanding operational environments.
- Carrying out laboratory-based evaluations of fabrication and assembly processes, while engaging directly with manufacturing teams and PCB vendors.
- Supporting the introduction of standardised approaches and documentation in line with both national and international engineering practices.
- Taking part in investigations of component- or board-level failures to support quality and reliability improvements.
