The predicted salary is between 26100 - 36480 £ per year.

Full time Permanent – 36 Hours per week plus participation in out of hours standby.

Location – Hanningfield, Chelmsford, Essex as our head office (Ideally candidates will be living within the M25 / adjacent areas).

Salary £29,120 to £36,400 (depending on experience).

Are you passionate about caring for the environment? We have an exciting opportunity to join our Water Networks Team as a Distribution Technician, working with your colleagues to deliver excellent service for our customers, communities and the environment.

We are looking for optimistic, self-motivated people with great communication skills to join the team looking after our water network and our customer’s needs. As a Distribution Technician, you will work across the Essex area, managing and resolving customer & network problems. This means you will be working as part of a customer focused team who will all play a part to help deliver the company’s 14 ambitious goals which is at the heart of our 2020/25 plan and beyond.

Our Distribution Technicians offer face to face technical assistance to our customers, identifying leaks, faults and any potential issues that need attention/referral to our repair teams. Working flexibly within a dynamic and fast-paced environment both during the day and out of hours while on standby, Health & Safety is paramount within the role for both yourself as an individual, the wider team, our customers, and members of the public.

Daily tasks involve maintaining and competently operating our water network to deliver world class customer service. Working to water quality measures, reducing leakage, maintaining supplies, working to environmental compliance is all part of this exciting and challenging opportunity.

Within the Water Network team, we encourage empowerment as part of our engagement strategy, as part of this you will receive support, training & coaching in line with the competencies and skills required once you meet these competencies and skills you will then be expected to take part in an operational standby rota.

If you’re a technically minded problem solver, with great people and communication skills, we want to hear from you. You will have excellent communication skills and have a desire to work flexibly in a 24/7 fast paced environment, you will be expected to work independently using your own initiative, with accountability for making on the spot decisions. You will thrive in an environment which relies on your problem-solving skills.

You may have a background in the water industry, with experience in working on pipe networks, however this isn’t essential. We have a great in-house training programme to build that technical ability for the right candidate.

Successful candidates must hold a full UK manual driving licence and live within our area of operation.

This role has been defined as a safety or security critical role and as a condition of a formal offer of employment you’ll be required to undergo a drug and alcohol test. Our recruitment process will be in 2 stages, firstly we would like to meet you virtually to ask a few questions about you, offer up some further information on this exciting role. The second stage for those successful will be to join us at our head office in Chelmsford, meet us again, speak to some members of our team and participate in some assessments.
