Prospero Teaching are proud to be working with a well-established Alternative Provision based in Lytchett Minster, who are seeking dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team from September 2025 or sooner. This specialist setting supports young people aged 5-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and medical needs. The provision offers a therapeutic and person-centred approach, delivering highly individualised support in small groups or on a 1:1 basis.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting pupils, teachers, and the wider school community. This is a rewarding and varied position offering the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who face barriers to learning.

Contract Details:

  • Location: Lytchett Minster, Dorset
  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Start Date: ASAP / September 2025
  • Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
  • Working Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm (Monday to Friday, 32.5 hours per week)
  • Pay Rate: £13.96 - £14.56 per hour

Requirements:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children or young people
  • GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (within the last year)
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Enhanced Child DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
  • Two professional, child-related references
