We have a great opportunity for an AP LV Electrical Technician to support the commissioning team in testing, troubleshooting and the verification of system operation. We design, install, commission and operate large scale solar PV farms and BESS projects for our clients, supplying renewable energy from solar power plants that enables local communities to reduce costs and reduce their carbon footprint. Alongside our solar farm projects we are involved in delivering a wide range of energy solutions to secure a more sustainable future. When working away from home you will be provided with hotel accommodation and additional expenses while the postholder will also have access to a company vehicle.
Key activities
- Act as an LV Authorised Person to ensure adherence with the company’s Electrical Safety Rules on live sites.
- Cooperate with relevant subcontractors to ensure a high standard of quality of works.
- Follow up with subcontractor installation and testing progress and update site progress tracker.
- Manage snagging items and identify, diagnose and resolve electrical faults.
- Support the commissioning team in testing, troubleshooting and verification of system operation.
- Occasionally install, test, commission electrical systems for the company’s renewable energy business unit.
- Review and prepare Risk Assessment Matrix related to electrical installation works.
- Join or manage toolbox talks on site and raise awareness of electrical risks, especially on solar farms.
- Keep up to date with the latest applicable Standards.
- Fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adhering to the company\’s Health & Safety Policy and Management Plans.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Authorised Person training centre certificate.
- 18th edition BS 7671.
- NVQ Level 3 electrical installations, Level 3 electrical installation and apprenticeship.
- Driver’s license and ability to travel to sites.
- SMSTS desirable but not required.
- Experience in installation, management, testing, commissioning and fault diagnosis of AC and DC electrical systems.
- Solid experience working on AC/DC electrical systems.
- First aid at work.
- Computer literacy.
- Flexible working attitude as this role will involve overnight stays.
