Job Title: Senior Land Manager

Location: London

The Role:

Lead the land acquisition and management process for utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage projects from site origination through to fully consented, ready-to-build phases. Work closely with key stakeholders, including landowners, agents, and consultants, to secure land agreements and support all aspects of project development, including planning and grid connection.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Origination

  • Identify and assess suitable sites for solar PV and battery storage development using mapping tools, feasibility studies, and environmental analysis.
  • Liaise with industry stakeholders, including Distributed Network Operators (DNOs) and planning authorities, to evaluate potential opportunities.
  • Support the team in identifying new land opportunities and evaluating their potential for development.

Land Acquisition and Management

  • Engage with landowners to secure land agreements through negotiations, including option agreements and leases.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, agents, and solicitors throughout the land acquisition process.
  • Negotiate agreements and contracts to ensure project value and alignment with commercial objectives.
  • Conduct site visits to assess suitability and develop strategies for land management.

Project Development

  • Work closely with planning and environmental teams to support the planning application process.
  • Collaborate with consultants, legal teams, and technical departments to ensure smooth project progression.
  • Manage interactions with external stakeholders, including local authorities, community representatives, and regulatory bodies, to address concerns and ensure alignment.
  • Monitor project risks, budgets, and timelines, escalating issues to management as needed.

General Responsibilities

  • Stay updated on renewable energy industry developments, particularly in land acquisition and management practices.
  • Participate in industry events and conferences to build knowledge and expand the company’s network.

  • 5-7 years of experience in land acquisition or project management within the renewable energy or related sector.
