Are you looking to develop your classroom experience before becoming a qualified Primary teacher? An outstanding primary school in Reading is searching for a classroom teaching assistant to join them as soon as possible. This is a small one-form entry primary school graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. There is a warm and welcoming feel to it. The Head Teacher is searching for a graduate to join them on a long-term basis ASAP.
The teaching assistant will hold responsibilities of general classroom support, involving helping the class teacher with preparation of lessons as well as delivery and helping children with their learning. The main focus will be numeracy and literacy; however, extra-curricular activities will also be a part of the role. The teaching assistant will be working with small groups and also 1:1 with the children, for example, to help them with their reading. The successful candidate must have a minimum of a C in GCSE Maths and English.
There is the option of working in Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, dependent on the suitability of the candidate. The Primary school is looking for a bright, enthusiastic graduate who can invest in the wider school community. As a teaching assistant, it would be beneficial to have extra-curricular interests as well as be academically strong – for example, participate in sports, play music, or have an interest in arts or drama.
