The Governing Body of Rumney Primary School are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational classroom practitioner, who creatively embraces the philosophies of the Curriculum for Wales and is willing to contribute to whole school life. We are a nurturing school, where providing a safe, caring environment is vital to ensure that pupils meet the high expectations set for them.

The successful candidate will:

  1. Initially be able to work the latter part of the week (Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays);
  2. Fully embrace our vision of Nurture, Inspire, Believe, Achieve;
  3. Be an excellent classroom practitioner who inspires all children to reach their full potential through a range of high-quality learning experiences;
  4. Have high expectations of themselves and of our pupils;
  5. Create a motivating and purposeful learning environment where work meets the needs of all learners;
  6. Be able to work effectively as part of a job-share partnership;
  7. Be able to manage other adults and work effectively as a team;
  8. Have a good knowledge and experience of assessment for learning and use this daily within their classroom practice to move pupils’ learning forward;
  9. Support other staff to drive forward whole school priorities;
  10. Have a keen interest in developing independent learners;
  11. Demonstrate excellent communication skills, to work effectively in partnership with parents, staff, governors and outside agencies.

Whilst we are initially looking for an infant practitioner, the successful candidate must be willing to work in all age ranges within the primary school.

Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
