Β£16,340 (Year 1) - Β£22,070 (Year 2) per annum (National Living Wage)

37 hours per week

Fixed Term Apprenticeship training contract for 21 months

A unique opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic apprentice to join East Suffolk Council's Human Resources and Communities teams as an Organisational Development Apprentice. This one-off opportunity will give you the chance to work within our friendly teams - working on all things learning and development, wellbeing and equality, diversity and inclusion.

Your role

Your duties will be varied and will involve providing administrative support to both the newly formed OD and Wellbeing team and the Communities team with a particular focus on the extensive work we're doing on the equality, diversity and inclusion agenda. This will include maintaining and monitoring our action plans ensuring they are kept up to date and aligned with ESC's objectives, arranging and attending meetings and focus groups, and supporting the administration of our annual training programmes. You will also get the opportunity to work on our digital learning platform and support the management of information on our intranet and website.

What You Will Need

You will be a first point of contact for the OD and Wellbeing team and a key contact for our work on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, so you need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills and IT skills and a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade C or above or grade 4 -9 (or equivalent). No previous administrative experience is required, as full training will be provided.

Apprenticeship open evening!

We are pleased to announce that we will be holding two open evenings at our Melton and Lowestoft offices. This will give you the opportunity to find out more about East Suffolk Council's apprenticeship scheme, learn more about each of our available opportunities direct from the placement managers and ask any questions you have.

The open evenings are taking place on the following dates:

  • Tuesday 13 May 2025, 5.30pm - 7.00pm at the East Suffolk House offices, Riduna Park, Station Road, Melton, Woodbridge IP12 1RT.
  • Wednesday 21 May 2025, 5.30pm - 7.00pm at the Riverside Offices, 4 Canning Road, Lowestoft, NR33 0EQ.
