Job description

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, term time only plus 5 days.

Job Purpose: To manage and maintain the learning resource centre to support student learning and staff development. To provide a service meeting the needs of teachers, students, governors, and the school community. To help students use resources effectively to enhance teaching and learning.

Main/Core duties:

  • Actively promote reading and literacy throughout the school.
  • Lead the implementation of literacy programmes within the school.
  • Support students in using technology in reading, including e-readers, and lead the library's strategic direction in a digital learning environment.
  • Promote and maintain a safe, healthy, and conducive learning environment in the Learning Resource Centre.
  • Develop an innovative library community integrated into school life, meeting the needs of 21st-century learners.
