Job Responsibilities:
- Identifying needs, setting requirements, defining problems
- Concept, design, and detailing of systems and components
- Communicating design requirements to internal and external customers
- Setting and overseeing the validation of the requirements
- Product launch support
- Problem-solving through the product lifecycle
Must Have:
- Basic rounded Engineering knowledge
- Demonstrates understanding of stress, strain, fatigue and understands manual calculations
- Design methodology taking designs through the product lifecycle
- Material specifications
- Understanding of structures
- Applies BS8888 and creates good-quality drawings
- Proficient in CAD, ideally Solid Edge
- Proficient and accurate in BOM creation
- Fastener technology
- Familiar with design fundamentals of multiple vehicle systems
- Relevant manufacturing processes
- Relevant experience/automotive knowledge including yellow goods, Hydraulics, Chassis, Vehicle Integration, Vehicle Systems
- Working with customers and suppliers to develop and improve products
- Demonstrates awareness of Cost/Quality/Time
- Takes ownership of individual tasks and works within guidelines to resolve within the required timing without supervision
- Able to work autonomously
- Able to work as part of a cross-functional team
- Calls design reviews when required to seek feedback
