Our in-house designer team continuously reimagine our signature dresses & other product categories using the latest eco-responsible fabrics. Our open and honest commitment to people and planet gives customers the confidence to buy something they can believe in.

About you: We are always on the lookout for talented Designers to join our passionate Design Team at Nobody's Child and we are currently looking for some freelance support across various areas. We are speculatively looking for Designers across a range of levels to execute our various clothing ranges - delivering seasonal key items, trends, details, colour; as well as having a keen eye for print trends.

Working collaboratively with the Design Team you will build and present concepts for the season as well as supporting with collection moodboards and colour palettes. You will keep up to date and be reactive to new trends and new opportunities in the range, alongside building collections for our wholesale partners. Sustainability will be at the forefront and the main driver within the design process, from sourcing innovative fabrics & trims through to designing for longevity.

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with Senior Designers, and our Design Manager to execute range development end to end from briefs given.
  • Working collaboratively with all in house departments, such as print, buying, merchandising & pattern cutting.
  • Leading on range development for your department by pro-actively driving research and presenting new ideas.
  • Showing in depth trend knowledge, clearly identifying department key items, key colours, new fabrics and details in line with the NC customer.
  • Keeping sustainability at the forefront of all development, constantly researching and evolving the brand to be the market leaders.
  • Sourcing the newest sustainable fabrics and trims to elevate the range.
  • Leading and participating in regular team meetings to present the range to heads of & CEO.
  • Creating Technical design specifications for new garment developments and working alongside suppliers to ensure fit and quality is prioritised.
  • Actively participating in fittings, in cooperation with buying and the tech team.
  • Establishing and building relationships with suppliers and fabric mills.
  • Managing a critical path and demonstrating organisation and drive to ensure ranges and correct samples are delivered on time.
  • Supporting with wholesale packs alongside the Senior designer and helping to amend this on a regular basis as needed.
  • Assisting with any other admin tasks including but not limited to photo shoot preparation, production, fabric and trim organisation.
  • Assisting the team with any other department needs on other departments other than your own in key seasonal pressure times.

You’ll bring:

  • Graduate fashion degree and industry experience in similar roles.
  • A can-do attitude, with strong drive and energy to deliver.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • IT design skills in Illustrator/CAD/InDesign.
  • Strong understanding of technical design packs and a strong knowledge of commercial garment construction, fabric construction and trims.
  • Demonstrate a commitment and passion to deliver responsible, thoughtful design.
