The Health & Safety Advisors will work alongside our Health and Safety Consultant in providing support and assurance to functions of the LOC, and with venue and locations to implement the highest standards of safety for our stakeholders. Roles will be required for specific days in June and July then complete a period of planning works on a part-time basis across their region and within the LOC, before undertaking an onsite role during August and September for the tournament.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work to the organisational health and safety strategy, standards and frameworks in order to provide competent safety advice and guidance.
  • Liaise with key functions to co-ordinate review, input and validation of Health and Safety Plans and associated documentation.
  • Understand key dates and works across the Stadium, Training Venues and other city activity to develop a schedule in maintaining appropriate resource.
  • Assist with the content of health and safety inductions and specific briefing information for venues / locations within their city, monitoring and ensuring completion by all relevant personnel.
  • Collaborate in management of an assurance programme by undertaking due diligence in areas of risk.
  • Attend appropriate meetings, ensuring health and safety matters are raised where necessary, including representation of RWC25 where these are with other stakeholders.
  • Provide an on-site presence at key times to complete regular inspections and monitoring of safety related matters: identifying, actioning and resolving any issues in a proactive and rationale manner, considering statutory obligations and best practices.
  • Support in coordination of onsite works between stakeholders, collating and conducting reviews of any handover documentation.
  • Support in planning and procurement of health and safety related elements (such as first aid cover / equipment, fire extinguishers, statutory signage) to ensure sufficient provision is in place for RWC25 to meet their obligations.
  • Review and collate accident and incident records, undertaking investigations where necessary.
  • Perform any other reasonable requests for operational and safety support as required.

Experience & knowledge you’ll need:

  • Located near to, or within one of the host cities.
  • Relevant qualification(s) in occupational health and safety (minimum of NEBOSH General Certificate).
  • Excellent knowledge of statutory law, regulations and best practice and their application to management of health and safety within events.
  • Demonstrable experience of working as a health and safety advisor at international sporting events, ideally within stadium environments, infrastructure installations and understanding of the occupational health and safety management required across a wide event workforce.
  • Appreciation of the approaches required to ensuring effective health and safety management in ancillary locations (such as accommodation, leisure centres, rugby clubs).

  • Existing knowledge, experience and relationships within the city and / or functions of the LOC.
  • A full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle.
