We are currently partnering with a leading Local Authority in Devon, who are recruiting for an interim Compliance Lead to join the organisation for up to 12 months.
This is an interim position with a daily rate of circa £375 a day to be paid via an Umbrella Company and our client would be looking to get someone started in January!
The ideal candidate will have experience delivery public sector compliance functions, working with the big six and have an up to date working knowledge of statutory regulations.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Leading the team to ensure the Housing function is in complete adherence with relevant legislation and regulations
- Spearheading the compliance function that includes the Big Six, Risk Assessments, CDM, Building Regulations, Staff Training and the Environmental Management Plan
- Overseeing the delivery of compliance, CDM, Health and Safety training, ensuring that colleagues are constantly informed of the ever-changing compliance landscape and are up to date with current policies
- Ensuring the wider organisation understand the importance of Compliance, and how crucial adherence is for the tenants/organisation
- Upholding the council’s strict compliance policies with sub-contractors, and any workers working on behalf of the council
- Controlling the compliance budget, ensuring that all works, courses, training days are in adherence with budgetary requirements
- Line Managing the compliance team that includes Surveyors and H&S advisors, ensuring the effective delivery of a Compliance function
Experience required:
- Experience working in public sector compliance
- Experience in enforcing building regulations, and the delivery of CDM
- Experience overseeing a Compliance function
- Experience in expressing the importance of Compliance to both colleagues and tenants
Qualifications needed:
- NEBOSH or equivalent is essential
- Membership of IOSH, or equivalent is essential
Working hours:
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm (These are flexible)
