Oxford Hawks is seeking a dynamic, motivated and experienced Women’s Performance Coach to join their team for the 2025/26 season and beyond. This role will oversee the top women’s team, currently in the National League (England Hockey Women’s Conference – Midlands). With an exciting club development vision, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the future of Oxford Hawks. The club offers high-quality facilities, including an onsite clubhouse and two floodlit artificial grass pitches.
The primary goal is to elevate the Women’s 1s to a higher league in a sustainable way. The coach will collaborate with the squad and Women’s 2s performance coach to set performance and process goals, ensuring the teams reach their full potential.
- Lead the Women’s 1s performance team by setting a compelling vision and ambitious goals in collaboration with the squad.
- Create a high-performance team culture, challenging and supporting players to excel.
- Work with the players’ leadership team to define expectations and behaviours that maximize team potential.
- Deliver engaging training sessions twice weekly (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-9 pm).
- Attend weekend games to provide tactical input and leadership. League games are played on Saturdays.
- Lead the collection and analysis of match-day footage, preparing materials for the squad’s review and development.
- Oversee squad fitness to enhance performance.
- Foster an inclusive environment that makes all players feel welcome and enables them to perform at their best.
- Develop individual players in the performance squad and attract new players promoting the club’s values around Our Community, Our Home and Our Future.
- Engage in the performance coach development framework, collaborating with other coaches and the performance director.
Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience coaching and managing a performance team.
- Ability to work with Women’s section coaches and identify/develop players with growth potential.
- Motivated, positive, and proactive with a successful track record.
- Demonstrated ability to create a high-performance team culture.
- Skill in interpreting team and individual performance and providing constructive feedback.
- Collaborative leadership style to maintain positive relationships with other coaches and captains.
- Proficiency in match-day footage collection and video analysis software.
- Commitment to supporting the club’s goals and objectives.
