An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic PR Manager to join a leading vegan campaigning charity. Based in Bristol, this role is a chance to make a meaningful impact while working within a dynamic communications team. Salary: Up to £33,000 About the Role The PR Manager will play a pivotal role in driving national and local media engagement, securing coverage for the organisation’s campaigns, resources, and activities. Key responsibilities include crafting compelling press releases, articles, and long-form content; arranging and participating in media interviews; and acting as a spokesperson on TV and radio. This role involves fostering relationships with journalists, influencers, and stakeholders while identifying opportunities to elevate the charity’s profile. The PR Manager will collaborate closely with colleagues to promote campaigns that inspire engagement, encourage donations, and support the transition toward veganism. Key Responsibilities Enhance the organisation’s visibility through media, influencer, and stakeholder engagement. Build and maintain relationships with media contacts across print, online, TV, and radio. Secure exclusive coverage for undercover investigations and campaigns. Write and distribute press releases, media responses, and campaign materials. Act as a spokesperson in media interviews and public appearances. Develop strategic partnerships and commercial collaborations to support promotional efforts. Manage celebrity engagement in collaboration with the marketing team. Oversee the organisation’s presence in print media, including regular contributions to vegan publications. Monitor media outlets to identify promotional opportunities. Support the Head of Communications and campaigns team in developing marketing strategies. Summary of Tasks Respond to incoming press enquiries and pitch key staff for interviews. Report on media coverage and manage journalist requests. Organise and oversee media interviews and advertising placements. Write a monthly column and arrange advertisements in vegan-focused media. Develop and implement promotional campaigns across various channels. About You The ideal candidate will be a proactive, resourceful individual with a passion for veganism, animal welfare, health, and environmental issues. You will have strong experience in media relations, excellent writing skills, and confidence in public speaking. A proven ability to secure high-profile media coverage is essential, alongside the creativity to identify new opportunities for engagement. Details Location : Bristol HQ (office-based). Hours : Full-time, 35 hours per week. Salary : £28,000–£33,000 (dependent on experience). Holidays : 4 weeks plus 5 days at Christmas (increasing with tenure), plus bank holidays. Contract : Permanent. Reports to : Head of Communications.
