Twenty five-vet, mixed practice (80% farm) looking for the right veterinary surgeon to join their growing pig team. High calibre field support team including biosecurity specialists. Friendly and experienced veterinary team enjoying regular in-house clinical meetings and discussions. Large and expanding farm client base. Up to £65,000 per year (depending on experience). A growing independent mixed practice located close to York. The practice has a long-established reputation for providing top-quality care with a particular focus on farm animal medicine, especially pigs. The twenty-five-vet team is known for its expertise and supportive environment. The practice is looking to expand its pig veterinary team and is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join the team. The role is open to experienced pig vets, though applications from new graduates with the right enthusiasm and career goals will be considered.
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of pig production, from disease prevention and health planning to auditing and management.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide veterinary care to a large and expanding farm client base, focusing primarily on pigs.
- Advise clients on disease prevention strategies, health management, and production systems.
- Contribute to disease management plans and biosecurity protocols for pig production systems.
- Participate in health planning and audits to meet client needs and industry standards.
- Regular involvement in in-house clinical discussions and professional development activities, fostering continuous learning.
- Work closely with a high-calibre support team, including biosecurity specialists.
Located in a small market town set in the heart of beautiful countryside, with the Yorkshire Moors and Howardian Hills nearby. The town is well-connected, providing easy access to York, road, and rail networks, offering both the tranquillity of rural living and the convenience of being close to the city.
Rota:Full time Monday to Friday. No weekends or out of hours.
