Cortland Dental and Braces is seeking a PRN/Part-time Dental Assistant to travel to Holyoke and Springfield on Thursdays from 8am to 5pm, with the possibility of assisting on other days as needed. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

As a Registered Dental Assistant (DA), you will be an integral part of the care team, providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Responsibilities include:
- Delivering quality and compassionate care to every patient.
- Guiding parents of minors and patients through our processes before treatment.
- Educating patients in oral hygiene instruction and providing postoperative instructions.
- Preparing patients for examination and treatment.
- Taking x-rays and saving them to patient charts (dependent on location).
- Ensuring the operational readiness of the hygiene bay and operatory rooms.
- Preparing tray set-ups for dental procedures.
- Mixing amalgam, cement, pulp paste, and preparing impression materials.
- Sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, equipment, chairs, and rooms.
- Assisting professional dental staff with treatment, including documenting patient information, treatment plans, and procedures in patient charts.
- Assisting with suctioning, holding retractors, and suture cutting during surgical procedures.
- Pouring, trimming, and polishing impression casts.
- Fabricating custom impression trays.
- Adhering to all government regulations and company standards.
Qualifications include:
- Graduation from a senior high school or GED equivalent required.
- X-ray certification required according to State and individual practices.
- Certified dental assistant credentials required according to State and individual practices.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus (location dependent).
