Balfour Beatty is seeking a Project Trainer to join our Power Transmission and Distribution Team, supporting projects across Scotland. The Project Trainer will collaborate with SMEs and the training team to deliver training programs to Site Engineers nationwide, ensuring all project staff trainees comply with current legislation and company standards. This role can be based anywhere in Scotland, involving regular travel to Power T&D sites. A company car will be provided, and overnight expenses covered. When not traveling, the role can be performed remotely.
What you'll be doing
- Assess all project staff trainees for compliance with legislation and standards.
- Collaborate with the training team to evaluate and improve training effectiveness, developing new materials as needed.
- Create training materials and activities.
- Assess, manage, and deliver project role training and support.
- Train and deliver various training packages, including setting to work, subcontractor management, and project fundamentals.
- Develop training programs for project roles.
- Deliver training and conduct end-point assessments.
- Travel across the UK to assess and deliver project role training.
- Continuously develop your professional skills through ongoing professional development.
Who we're looking for
- Essential:
- Experience in construction, power, or utilities industry at a supervisor or engineer level.
- Ability to lead and manage work teams (Person in Charge).
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Desirable:
- Previous training experience, knowledge sharing, and coaching skills.
- Relevant training and assessment qualifications, CIPD/CPD accreditation or equivalent.
- Management or supervision qualification.
