Are you passionate about ensuring children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are provided with high-quality education within their local community? The SEND Team are seeking a dedicated Practice Supervisor to oversee, manage and coordinate the Boston South Holland SEND Team.

About the Role

The Practice Supervisor role is an integral component for the SEND Team ensuring the needs of the locality area are met. The successful candidate will provide supervision of the caseworkers, ensuring standards are met and the team runs efficiently and effectively. This role will cover the Boston and South Holland locality area along with providing support to other locality area SEND Teams as required. The successful candidate will also contribute to the direction and development of the SEND strategy and planning, taking into account local and national policy and initiatives.

About the Team

Candidates will need to have extensive experience of working within the statutory framework of Special Educational Needs and Disability, across partners, with families and children/young people. Evidence of skills required to support a team of caseworkers and assistant caseworkers is essential. The team provides the production, oversight and administration of Education Health and Care assessments and Education Health and Care Plans. The team also ensures all statutory duties are met and that families and children/young people receive a high standard of service to ensure all partners are delivering the legally required support to meet the young person's special educational needs.

About You

Applications are encouraged from candidates with and without experience of being in a Practice Supervisor role. You will be required to lead, ensuring high quality of services are maintained. If you are solution focused, passionate about improving services for children and young people with SEND, have excellent communication skills and have a passion for strong customer service, then we would welcome your application.

In addition, the successful candidate will:

  • Hold a full professional qualification with extensive relevant post qualification experience, or the knowledge and skills acquired from a degree at graduate/post graduate level, teaching qualification or equivalent, and extensive post-qualification experience in a relevant children's service environment.
  • Have significant experience of working with families, children and young people with complex SEN needs.
  • Demonstrate a high level of organisational skills and the ability to prioritise high demand, and excellent communication skills within the context of statutory SEND provision.
