Fab shop based in Broughton, days, £20 per hour + uncapped bonus.

As we continue our journey of growth and expansion to serve the new era of nuclear energy, Boccard, a leading specialist in engineering, manufacturing, construction, and maintenance in the nuclear energy industry, is looking for Fabricators to join us here at Boccard.

Reporting to the Fabrication Manager, our Fabricators are based at our fully digital manufacturing site at Broughton, near Chester, and will be responsible for the fabrication of piping supports to be used in the nuclear industry, currently for the Hinkley Point Power Station project.

Working from isometric drawings, our Fabricators will tack weld box sections and plates. The role will perform welds at each stage of manufacturing and construction and will weld carbon steel supports to exacting standards ready for installation at Hinkley Point Nuclear Power Station.

Responsibilities include:

  • Fit-up and tack welding of pipe supports, including prefabrication to the highest standards set by the nuclear industry.
  • Working to a high level of standards within the Nuclear sector.
  • Reporting all anomalies, safety hazards, and specific problems to the Team Leader before proceeding further.
  • Fully complying with site health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures including site rules and notices.
  • Assisting with the training of others where competency in trade allows.
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the role.

Our Fabricators are part of a busy, friendly team made up of welders, fabricators, and operators performing work to the highest quality standards. All work is quality inspected, both visually and NDT. It is important that applicants have a quality mindset with high personal standards, in respect of both the quality of their work and quantity of throughput.

Working in a newly set up manufacturing facility, which is fully digital, the environment is clean, efficient with the overriding focus on safe working practices. Hours of work are 07:30 to 15:30 Mon to Thurs and 07:30 to 12:30 Friday. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.

As part of our employment screening process, all applicants will need to complete BPSS screening and have a safety passport (e.g., CITB / CSCS). All of our Fabricators (and Welders) are coded, and new starters are coded at the start of their employment.
