Job Description
Are you a talented and ambitious Commercial Manager looking to work on exciting infrastructure projects that can change the world, projects that are always more complex and innovative than the last? We are looking for experienced Commercial Managers to support our exciting growth plans, working with our key infrastructure clients, particularly in the rail sector in the Northwest and Midlands, supporting the successful delivery of their capital projects and programmes of work. You will be joining an established team of like-minded experts that have a passion for innovation and delivering cutting edge solutions.
As a Commercial Manager within our Buildings & Places Infrastructure team, you will provide a comprehensive, accurate and value driven service for large, high profile and exciting key client within the rail sector. The role also presents opportunities to work across other sectors including highways, water and power sectors throughout the UK. The role will cover all aspects of commercial management throughout the whole project lifecycle from initial inception / business case through to completion / commissioning. The role also provides the opportunity to support the growth of the business and management/development of team members within the Northwest and Midlands.
Duties include (but not limited to):
- Deliver all aspects of commercial management from inception of a project through to completion.
- Achieve the highest standards of professional competence and to demonstrate this ability in all dealings with clients and professional contacts, reinforcing the profile of the company.
- Drive performance standards and technical excellence through communication and effective use of the performance management process and AECOM technical practice networks.
- Maintain and develop good relationships with clients, take every opportunity to uphold and increase the profile of the firm as a provider of professional, premium quality services to the construction industry.
- Actively support the internal team and manage more junior staff on technically complex projects.
- Develop marketing opportunities and where appropriate bring to the attention of Directors and the Business Development Department, in order that they may assist in following up potential leads enabling the development of new business.
Skills/experience required:
- Experience and strong track record in the Cost and Commercial Management/Quantity Surveying field.
- Experience of undertaking cost/commercial management as part of integrated, multi-organisation, collaborative teams.
- Experience of working within a client organization, either directly or through a colocation/secondment arrangement would be of benefit.
- Experience of working in the rail sector is preferred.
- Ability to identify and influence key client stakeholders, building effective relationships to grow workload/portfolio.
Qualifications
- Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent); Accredited to MRICS (or equivalent) or working towards it.
