If so, we want you to join our UK sourcing team as a Purchasing Manager for our key Companion Animal brands including the UK’s No.1 dog treat & toys brand, Good Boy.
The Role:
- Identify and evaluate new sources of materials, negotiating payment terms and managing agreements.
- Engage senior leadership in supply decisions and manage a variety of relationships to achieve profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate new sources of materials and services to meet the short, mid and long-term needs of the business.
- Negotiate, propose, and execute supply, terms, payment, rebate and exclusivity agreements.
- Coordinate and engage with senior stakeholders and Legal counsel to align on supplier contracts and reach consensus on the ultimate choice of supplier.
- Develop new and manage existing supply agreements with suppliers to meet GPC objectives of low cost, high quality, and flexibility to business demands.
- Select and develop suppliers into strategic partners bringing value and innovation to the supply chain.
- Collaborate on the development and implementation of global sourcing strategies and operating plan budget.
- Identify and lead sustaining projects.
- Manage market dynamics relative to controlling raw material and currency inflation/deflation on product portfolio and achieve year over year productivity to meet/exceed corporate objectives via cost improvement/working capital.
- Develop strategies and execution plans and manage competitive bidding process, evaluating the country of origin, pricing, quality, and understanding capacity constraints.
- Assure 99% customer fill rate goals via supplier performance management and supply chain support.
- Evaluate, measure and report supplier performance metrics and scorecards.
- Resolve warranty and liability claims with supply base to recover costs per contract terms.
About You:
You will have previous experience in purchasing management and considerable knowledge of sources of supply, markets, price and commodity trends.

- Considerable knowledge of sources of supply, markets, price and commodity trends with ability to accurately predict/anticipate marketplace events and develop action plans that anticipate/prevent implementation challenges.
- Natural influencer with Senior stakeholders and Senior business leaders in outside organisations.
- Skilled at effectively interfacing with all levels, specifically Senior Stakeholders both inside and outside of the organization.
- Strong at interpreting, proposing and implementing complex supply agreements/contracts.
- Experience managing global suppliers and in supply chain operations and/or management preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written in English, as well as proven negotiating skills, Team Leadership/Management Skills, and Project Leadership experience required.
- Able to facilitate dynamic, cross-functional groups and give presentations.
- Able to manage multiple projects successfully.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, SAP computer systems and applications.
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills required.
- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) Certification desirable.
- You will have a valid UK driving license, as travel will be required within the UK and Europe and have the right to work in the UK.
