The Vacancy
North Lincolnshire Council is seeking to recruit a community-spirited individual to provide a school crossing service to children and their parents/guardians.
Applicants should have a good understanding of road use and traffic awareness. You will need to use your judgment of speed and distance to determine when it is safe to stop traffic and allow pedestrians to cross the road.
The presence of a School Crossing Patrol encourages parents and children to walk to school, providing environmental and health benefits, and improving safety on the site.
Duty times are before school opens in the morning and after it closes in the afternoon. Good verbal communication skills are essential.
This post is term-time only. Patrol times are AM 08:20 – 08:55 and PM 15:00 – 15:30.
