Send Learning Support Assistant required

Classroom Teachers Ltd are seeking an LSA or support worker to assist a student for 15 hours a week, spread over 5 days.

The position involves working alongside an experienced tutor to support a 6-year-old student with complex needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The student is below age-related academic levels, with focus on behaviour management and teaching self-regulation and calming strategies. Constant supervision is required to ensure safety.

Job Details:

• Start date: ASAP
• Type: Temporary, ongoing until the end of the term
• Rate of pay: £20.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Assist the student to progress academically and behaviourally
• Create a stimulating and enjoyable learning environment

Person Specification:

• Previous SEN experience or understanding of ASD and other needs
• Experience with PECS, Makaton, ABA, TEAACH, or SPELL is preferred but not essential
• Passionate, enthusiastic, and caring attitude
• Good communication skills with staff

An in-date enhanced DBS or one registered on the online update service is essential, as the role is to start ASAP.
