Purpose of Role

To provide high-quality training and assessments in line with DVSA test standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide high-quality practical training to learners, ensuring they meet the required DVSA test standards for safe and efficient operation of vehicles.
  • To carry out driver assessments in line with DVSA standardised processes, to evaluate skills and identify areas of development.
  • Provide objective and fair assessments of driving competence.
  • To deliver classroom courses, including Driver CPC and in-house courses as required.
  • To support learners with theory preparation.
  • To travel to corporate clients to carry out driver risk assessments in line with their requirements.
  • To ensure all training complies with relevant legislation and industry standards.
  • Stay updated on changes in regulations and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of training progress and assessments.

Essential Skills and Requirements

  • Experience as a vocational driver trainer for HGV and PCV.
  • Proficient in driver checks and reporting procedures.
  • Strong teaching and coaching skills.
  • Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road signs, and driving regulations (The Highway Code).
  • Flexible availability, including early starts and late finishes.

Hours Expected

40 hours, Monday to Friday. Overtime available when required.
