Purpose of Role
To provide high-quality training and assessments in line with DVSA test standards.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide high-quality practical training to learners, ensuring they meet the required DVSA test standards for safe and efficient operation of vehicles.
- To carry out driver assessments in line with DVSA standardised processes, to evaluate skills and identify areas of development.
- Provide objective and fair assessments of driving competence.
- To deliver classroom courses, including Driver CPC and in-house courses as required.
- To support learners with theory preparation.
- To travel to corporate clients to carry out driver risk assessments in line with their requirements.
- To ensure all training complies with relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Stay updated on changes in regulations and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of training progress and assessments.
Essential Skills and Requirements
- Experience as a vocational driver trainer for HGV and PCV.
- Proficient in driver checks and reporting procedures.
- Strong teaching and coaching skills.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road signs, and driving regulations (The Highway Code).
- Flexible availability, including early starts and late finishes.
Hours Expected
40 hours, Monday to Friday. Overtime available when required.
