Salary: £15.25 per hour – £31,750 – £40,000 inc overtime
Hours: Monday–Friday • typical 07:00–17:00 (40 hr guarantee) – Adhoc nights out available
Welch Group is 90 years young and still family-run—but we’re also the operator of Cambridge’s first 19-tonne Renault E-Tech electric rigid, proving that clean delivery works in the real world.
The rigid fleet is flexed between multi-drop pallet work that keeps local industry supplied, returning to base each evening so you can sleep in your own bed. Or getting up the road for a day of medium distance multi-drop groupage.
What you’ll do:
- Start/finish at your home depot in a modern curtainsider rigid. Vehicles allocated to drivers, no agency has been used for over 6 years!
- Secure, deliver and off-load freight safely; capture ePODs on driver app
- Navigate city-centre restrictions and customer booking slots
- Complete daily walk-around checks, digital tacho downloads & defect reports
- Keep customers smiling with punctual, polite service
- (Optional) Road-test our electric rigid on selected routes—training provided
