We’re looking for a Tax Accountant to join our Finance team Working with the Head of Tax & Shared Services, as we look to continuously improve our processes, you will deliver a range of tax compliance and advisory services across all taxes, including: preparation of UK Corporation Tax and VAT returns; overseeing the preparation of overseas tax returns and related disclosures; completion of internal monthly tax reporting; calculation of statutory tax accounting positions and disclosures for group and subsidiary accounts, plus the opportunity to assist the wider business on ad hoc tax matters and projects What will you do as a Tax Accountant at N Brown? Prepare the annual Corporation Tax returns using tax software (OneSource) and related transfer pricing / BEPS documentation. Oversee the preparation of overseas Corporation Tax and VAT returns prepared by external advisors. Complete current and deferred tax charge calculations and related year end tax disclosures for the group’s financial statements. Prepare our Group VAT returns, incorporating calculations aligned to our Retail Scheme, Partial Exemption and VAT Bad Debt Relief methodologies. Complete period end processes and monthly reporting for Tax, including VAT calculations, balance sheet reconciliations and tracking progress on external tax engagements. Critically review existing tax processes, adopting a continuous improvement mindset Maintain accurate tax cash flow forecasting and assist in preparation of tax forecasts and budgets for FP&A colleagues. Liaison with HMRC, statutory auditors and external advisors with support from the Head of Tax & Shared Services. Assist the Head of Tax & Treasury with the maintenance of the group’s tax governance and control processes including updating the Tax Strategy, Risk Register andSAO processes and developing our tax risk framework. Assist the Head of Tax & Shared Services with the identification of potential tax risks and opportunities and provision of tax advice to the business. Act as an ambassador for Finance and Tax, proactively developing internal and external networks with relevant stakeholders to improve your knowledge and experience. What skills and experience will you have as Tax Accountant? Experience with business tax compliance, including preparation of Corporation Tax and VAT returns. Fully or part-qualified accountant. Knowledge of relevant Corporation Tax and VAT issues, with particular experience of external audit requirements. Experience of tax accounting and disclosures for consolidated groups. Excellent data management and processing skills. Experience of using Oracle Cloud, Corporation Tax software (OneSource / Alphatax) and VAT MTD knowledge beneficial, but not a requirement What’s in it for you?
