The role is hybrid and based at one of our office locations: Bristol, Newcastle, Leeds, Edinburgh, Glasgow or London.
The role involves reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, where the Group CIO will create, own, and execute a forward-looking IT strategy that enables Logical Holdings, Scott Logic, and Marra to deliver outstanding client outcomes while scaling and developing the in-technology environment efficiently. A key objective is to successfully deliver and build upon a recently developed IT improvement programme that simplifies processes, unlocks data-driven decision-making, and provides robust, secure, cloud-first infrastructure across the organisation.
Key responsibilities:
- Define and deliver a multi-year Group IT strategy aligned to business objectives and B Corp commitments.
- Lead the IT effectiveness programme, simplifying and enhancing existing IT processes, policies, and controls to improve the end-user experience.
- Establish, operate, and govern common platforms for collaboration, DevOps tooling, data management, and business applications (e.g., Finance, HR, CRM) across all entities.
- Own the group-wide cyber-security posture: set policy, oversee risk assessments, incident response, and third-party vendor assurance in accordance with recognised standards such as ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus.
- Develop and maintain a clear, transparent view of IT risks across the organisation, and implement effective mitigation strategies as a core element of technology governance.
- Lead an IT team of 8 professionals across 3 offices, supporting the technology needs of Scott Logic, Logical Holdings, and Marra.
Knowledge and experience:
- Proven track record as CIO or held responsibility as an IT leader in a technology organisation or professional services environment.
- Demonstrable success delivering enterprise-wide IT strategy, improvement, or transformation programmes.
- Deep understanding of software development lifecycles, DevOps, and cloud-native architectures.
- Board-level communication skills with experience influencing diverse stakeholder groups.
- Fluent understanding of UK data protection, cyber standards, and financial regulations.
- Willingness to travel to other offices as required.
What you’ll get in return:
- Hybrid working with 1 day a week in the office.
- 25 days’ annual leave, rising to 30 days after six years of service.
- Generous family leave policies.
- Access to pension scheme, private medical services, and Group Life Assurance.
- Optional benefits such as discounted gym membership and cycle-to-work scheme.
