Working in partnership with North East Lincolnshire Council, EQUANS is looking for a School Crossing Patrol Officer to join our team in Grimsby on a permanent basis. This is a part-time role working 5 hours per week (term time only). On offer is a salary of £2,340 per annum and benefits package.
You will ensure the safety of children crossing the road at a designated location point between specified times. A School Crossing Patrol Officer is an essential asset to the local community as they contribute towards children's safety getting to and from school. The ideal candidate for the role is someone living close to the school for ease of access.
What will you deliver?
- Carry out Equans and North East Lincolnshire Council's policy regarding the School Crossing Patrol Service, including Health and Safety Procedures.
- Use the uniform and equipment provided for the safety of yourself, parents, children, and all other members of the public, especially when stopping traffic on the highway.
- Maintain control over pedestrians awaiting your instruction to cross.
- Report any problems or difficulties to the Road Safety Education Officer/School Crossing Patrol Supervisor.
- Attend a yearly local training seminar.
- Carry out duties with full regard to the organisation's Equal Opportunities Policy.
- Take care of your own Health and Safety and that of others you come into contact with.
- Understand the value of performance information and monitor progress.
- Focus on key priorities for the company and the impact of your work.
- Undertake any other relevant duties as required.

- This role includes an Enhanced DBS with Barred List check; ability to pass is essential.
